2009 - Library Wines
With a new baby, the growing season was just a blur. It's amazing how quickly time passes, and weeks become months. Watching my daughter grow is so much like following the season of the vines. This year brought me time to reflect and enjoy life's daily pleasures. Without much rain, nature brought us some deficit-irrigation. Clusters were small this year and the vines focused their growth into the fruit, instead of pushing extra laterals and leaves. It was as though the vines were reflecting my sentiments as a new mother, imparting all that they had into the fruit to produce the highest quality possible.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Issue 159
90 pts "Bright ruby. Powerful, deep cherry and blackberry aromas are rather brooding for a pinot noir. Then broad and spicy in the mouth, offering palate-coating cherry and dark berry flavors enlivened by peppery spices and a note of candied rose. Shows very good intensity on the finish, which echoes the floral and spice notes."
