International Wine Challenge - November 2014

88 pts "Pale gold. Aromas of peach nectar and pear, with floral and orange zest topnotes. Smooth and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering juicy pit fruit flavors braced by a note of tangy lemon curd. Nicely plump but maintains its focus, finishing slightly warm, with good breadth and lingering floral character." - Josh Raynolds

89 points "From White Hawk Vineyard near Los Alamos, this wine has a nose that is both edgy with tangerine rind and ripe with warmer crème brûlée notes. The palate plays the same trick, welcoming with broad white peach, Japanese pear and vanilla-cream flavors, yet clinging to a zesty line of lime pith throughout." -Matt Kettman

Limited Production Nagy Wines “As with most fine viogniers, this one has a perfumed nose: citrus, peach, pear, honeysuckle and ginger with a hint of orange marmalade. There's a big splash on mouth entry but then it focuses on the flavor task at hand on mid-palate, showing stone fruit — like nectarine, peach and apricot — with a zippy lemon/lime chiffon on the back beat. The nicely honed flavors are spot on, never veering into excess as so many viogniers do. It uses grace and subtlety as a way of making its points on the palate.” -Dennis Schaefer
